SMEs will be paired with large corporates who will offer professional advice and resources tailored to meet its specific needs. The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Trade (DCCI) has launched its Business Mentoring and Support (BMS) Programme – a CSR initiative to benefit the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Dubai cope with the impact of the current health-virus-economic crisis.
Dr. Belaid Rettab, senior director of Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector, Dubai Chamber stated that “Given the unprecedented challenges faced by SMEs in the current business landscape, it was an expected change for Dubai Chamber to create a programme providing these enterprises with valuable support and resources in the key challenge areas, in a way that not only addresses immediate needs but also helps them develop and grow into thriving businesses.”
official news agency WAM, stated that “As an initiative part of the programme, SMEs in Dubai are paired with large companies who will offer professional advice and resources tailored to needs of that SME to help it strengthen its business skills and competencies.
The programme was established by Dubai Chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business, and will provide better aid to participants for firming their business skills and competencies.
At the same time, it provides an opportunity for large corporates to enhance their CSR (corporate social responsibility) impact and contribute to the development of Dubai’s economy.
The Coca-Cola Company will launch the first initiative supported by the Dubai Chamber initiative. Under the company’s ‘Open Like Never Before’ initiative, as it will be contributing 250,000 face masks and $240,000 worth of products to 3,000 restaurants and small stores across the UAE, and advise the retailers with in-store safety communications and social awareness campaigns designed to encourage customers to support local stores.
It will also provide participants with access to training, and guidelines on mentoring and support.
The Center for Responsible Business will deliver awareness programmed on the dual benefits of mentoring and support to increase the pool of mentors and supporters from great enterprises globally, in MENA, gulf territory as well as appeal and get the best participation from SMEs in Dubai.
The previous month, the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD) unveiled a new economic stimulus package with saving of up to 36 per cent for businesses operating within the free zone and for SMEs coping with current health-virus-economic crisis.
