Tayo Akiwumi has joined the iD team as Director of International Business.  This milestone for the iD business, affirms their aggressive and strategic plans to continue the growth of their successful Agile Retail proposition.  Joining a leadership team headed by Group Managing Director, Marcus Fox, Tayo will be developing an exciting number of APAC retail and brand partners looking to iD for physical retail expansion into the highly lucrative UK retail market.

While living and working in Europe, Africa, Middle East, South Asia and Asia Pacific regions, Tayo has spent over 25 years leading business development and consultative sales for major multinationals such as Siemens AG, Software AG, Miznee Ltd, Space Technologies and Logica.   Bringing both a wealth of experience and a substantial background centred on international B2B and B2B2C software, IT, healthcare, and telecommunications solutions – Tayo will be leading the way to actively help international businesses come to the UK retail market via iD’s Agile Retail turnkey solution.

Group Managing Director, Marcus Fox says of the new hire:

“There has never been a better time for international brands to penetrate the UK market, and we’re seeing incredible appetite from APAC brands in particular.  As we come out of covid restrictions we can see a perfect melting pot of innovation, consumer desire and strong sales data further to be enhanced due to new global trade deals post Brexit.  In this pivotal moment, there are a wealth of opportunities for brands and omni-channel retailers to connect with the UK and global consumer. Retailing is hard and operating overseas is a big leap for many brands; iD’s product Agile Retail offers the perfect fully outsourced retail solution for those who want to de-risk entering the UK market.”

iD proudly combines its 28 years of agency expertise as a leader in bringing brands to life via experiences, and its newer pop-up and semi-permanent retail solutions.  In 2018 iD launched a specialist pop-up service to complement its award-winning brand experience campaigns.  Following a board level re-structure and strategic deep dive into growth of the business, the leadership team successfully launched their newest product, Agile Retail, in summer 2020.  iD has proudly recently partnered with both the British Retail Consortium and Department of International Trade to continue its focus to offer brands an effective retail experience solution. Previous and current clients include, PepsiCO, L’Oréal, Britvic, Maybelline, Philip Morris International, Nespresso, Samsung, Just Eat and Co-op.
