Bahri, a logistics, transportation pioneer, recently had unveiled, expanded their Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) fleet to 42 as it recently inducted the initial ‘gas ready’ vessel, announced as ‘Rayah’. The vessel had been created jointly by International Maritime Industries (IMI), Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) within the HHI’s shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea.
The project had been developed as a part of their SAR 371 million (approximately equivalent to USD 98.9 million) contract signed in September 2019). This construction also marks out the successful accomplishment of the IMIs initial VLCC project. The firm announced fortifying Bahri’s crude-oil transportation market’s reputation. It offers latest build maintenance, repair, overhaul (MRO) services for commercial vessels, comprising of the VLCCs, Bulk Carriers, Offshore Support Vessels, and Offshore Jackup rigs.
The firm also added that it’s the only shipyard with definite offtake agreements worth USD 10 billion (approximately equivalent to SAR 37.5 billion) over 10 years, with partners Aramco and Bahri, for the delivery of 20 rigs and 52 vessels.
Bahri stated that it’s the owner for a fleet of 90 vessels, comprising 42 VLCCs, 23 chemical, 10 product tankers, six multipurpose ro-ro vessels, nine dry-bulk carriers, organized with a robust orderbook, serving 150 ports globally.
