Deliveroo UAE has just introduced a new in-app round-up feature, that has been designed to help customers donate to communities in need across the UAE through licensed, local non-profit organizations. Emirates Red Crescent will be the first partner to receive these donations. The initiative is a part of Deliveroo’s Full Life campaign designed to tackle food insecurities around the world, a pillar of the aggregator’s global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.

With the click of a button, customers can now round up their bill at checkout when placing an order on the Deliveroo App. The round-up feature will give customers the opportunity to conveniently donate a nominal amount to the Emirates Red Crescent without having to switch to a different charity page. The feature available at check-out is designed to encourage a higher volume of customer donations. All funds raised will be donated to communities in need across the UAE by Emirates Red Crescent.

Anis Harb, General Manager at Deliveroo Middle East said, “Deliveroo UAE has always been committed to supporting our communities with our Full Life campaign, and through our long-term partnerships with organisations like Emirates Red Crescent, we are able to launch various initiatives to do so. We are very humbled by the responses to our previous initiatives, and hope to continue making a difference in the lives of those in need with the support of Emirates Red Crescent.”

Mohammed Ahmad Al Yammahi of Emirates Red Crescent also added, “Having a round-up feature at the check-out page on the Deliveroo App is a great opportunity for customers in the UAE to easily and conveniently donate to communities in need. We are proud of our achievements through our partnership with Deliveroo so far, and look forward to strengthening our collaboration.”

The new initiative’s kick-off in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent comes off the back of Deliveroo’s long-term collaboration with the organisation. Earlier this year, Deliveroo UAE launched its Full Life campaign in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent, with a dedicated donations page, followed by a series of supper clubs by Chef Halawa.
