Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate (AFGRE), Egypt’s leading real estate developer, announced its recent partnership with VeryNile on a Nile River cleanup campaign focused on intercepting plastic waste in the river. The campaign, which took place in Qursaya Island, aimed at raising awareness of the importance of protecting the Nile and the environment against pollution. The cleanup campaign took place on 21st of February 2023, where more than 40 of the group’s employees voluntarily participated in the campaign.

On the sidelines of the cleanup initiative, the group’s participants also had the chance to attend a workshop which primarily focused on recycling. The workshop highlighted the importance of proper disposal of plastic waste, which has been on the rise in recent years, posing a significant threat to marine life, migratory birds, and human health.
