Before joining the Vertiv leadership team, Frieda served as CPO at Polestar (2023โ€“2026), where she expertly managed a $3 billion annual global spend and navigated the complexities of enterprise transformation during significant industry shifts.

With nearly two decades of leadership, Friedaโ€™s professional footprint is defined by high-stakes management and operational excellence. At Volvo Cars, she served as Vice President and Head of Global Propulsion & Sustainability Procurement, overseeing a massive $9 billion annual spend and acting as a cornerstone for the brand’s electrification evolution. Her career is further distinguished by a robust foundation in the Asia-Pacific region, where she developed deep technical expertise in cost engineering, global sourcing, and supplier development across Chinaโ€™s manufacturing landscape.

Academic Foundations

Friedaโ€™s strategic expertise is backed on educational background that bridges global business hubs. She holds an Executive MBA from the University of Oxford in England, a credential that underscores her sophisticated approach to multinational governance and value creation. Additionally, she earned her bachelorโ€™s degrees in General Studies and Business/Commerce from Northeast Normal University in China, providing her with a unique, dual-perspective lens on global market dynamics and procurement strategy.
