Aldar recently announced it has generated AED 1.5 billion during the launch of The Canopies, a six-building apartment community at Yas Point, the company’s new waterfront destination on the northern shore of Yas Island. The strong sales performance reflects sustained demand for homes on Yas Island and the continued momentum of Abu Dhabi’s real estate market.

Industry sources added that The Canopies is the first residential community launched within Yas Point and following its successful launch, Aldar will release further homes within the masterplan in the second half of 2026. The move extends the opportunity for buyers to secure a home within a fully integrated waterfront destination that comprises a five-star resort hotel, branded residences, an international school, retail, dining, and leisure, and is integrated with Yas Island’s broader lifestyle and entertainment offering.

Industry sources further confirmed that 84% of customers were first-time Aldar buyers attracted by The Canopies’ waterfront setting, park-centred design, and access to Yas Island’s wider lifestyle and entertainment offering. 40% of buyers were UAE nationals, while expatriate residents and overseas buyers accounted for 60% of sales. Buyers from United Kingdom, India and Egypt ranked among the highest by sales volume. Female buyers represented 32% of sales with male buyers contributing 68%, while 47% of all buyers were under the age of 45.

Residents will also enjoy the benefits of living minutes away from Yas Mall, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Yas Links Abu Dhabi and Yas Marina Circuit, with Disney Abu Dhabi and Sphere Abu Dhabi set to add further weight to the island’s appeal.
