The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) has made an AI-powered study assistant available within its professional qualification programmes, starting with the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) programmes. This makes BIBF the first training institution in Bahrain to offer this type of support to participants in these two programmes. The initiative is the first step in BIBFโs plan to make AI study support available across more professional qualification programmes in the future.
The CPA qualification covers accounting, auditing and taxation, while the CMA qualification focuses on management accounting, financial planning and business decision-making.
The study assistant, known as Newt, is included in the learning materials provided by Becker, a global publisher of professional accounting exam preparation materials. Participants can use the assistant to ask questions and receive instant answers and clear explanations based on Beckerโs learning content.

The assistant helps participants understand key concepts and review areas that need more attention while preparing for their exams. It is used alongside classroom sessions and support from BIBF trainers and does not replace them.
Commenting on the announcement, Dr Ahmed Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, Chief Executive Officer of BIBF, said: โMany professionals continue their studies while working, so we aim to provide tools that give them extra support when they need it and help them make better use of their time. The assistant provides additional explanations that complement the role of our trainers throughout the exam preparation period.โ
He added: โWe have started with the CPA and CMA programmes and are working to make this support available gradually across more professional qualification programmes. This forms part of BIBFโs approach to using artificial intelligence in a practical and responsible way within education and training.โ
The initiative supports BIBFโs efforts to improve the learning experience, develop national talent and prepare Bahrainโs workforce for the changing needs of the labour market and the Kingdomโs digital transformation.
