HSBC Kuwait has announced the launch of a new merchant acquiring proposition for its corporate clients, delivered through a strategic partnership with Tap Payments, a fintech founded in Kuwait and a licensed payment service provider.

Through this collaboration, HSBC clients can accept card payments using Tap Payments’ payment infrastructure, while benefiting from a more efficient collections experience, improved receivables visibility, consolidated reporting, and simplified settlement.

Industry sources added that this partnership expands the payment collection options available to HSBC clients and supports businesses across Kuwait in their digital transformation journeys by reducing reliance on cash and cheque-based collections.

Commenting on the partnership, Ahmed Al Murad, Chief Executive Officer, Kuwait, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, said: “Kuwait’s growing digital economy is creating strong opportunities for businesses to streamline their operations. By bringing together HSBC’s global expertise and Tap Payments’ local fintech strengths, we’re helping companies improve efficiency with simpler collections, better reporting and stronger receivables management.”

Kyle Boag, HSBC Regional Head of Global Payments Solutions, said: “This partnership reflects our commitment to helping businesses embrace digital transformation through innovative solutions that simplify financial operations and enhance efficiency. Together with Tap Payments, we are providing organizations with greater visibility, control, and flexibility in managing their collections and receivables.”

Anwar Marafi, Tap Payments Group Head, Business & Financial Institutions, said: “Businesses in Kuwait want to modernise how they collect and manage payments without adding complexity to their operations. By combining HSBC’s global banking expertise with Tap Payments’ local payments infrastructure, this partnership gives businesses a simpler way to accept card payments, improve visibility across collections, and manage receivables more effectively. It reflects our shared commitment to helping businesses grow through payment products built for the Kuwait market.” The partnership underscores HSBC’s commitment to supporting businesses across Kuwait with innovative digital solutions that enable growth, improve operational efficiency, and support the country’s broader digital transformation agenda.

Industry sources added that in addition to enabling card acceptance, the solution strengthens receivables management by providing greater transparency and control over collections. Clients can view detailed transaction data across multiple collection channels in a single interface, making reconciliation easier and enabling better-informed decision-making. Designed for straightforward adoption, the proposition integrates seamlessly with clients’ existing business channels and information systems, eliminating the need for significant investments in new software, infrastructure, or operational processes.
