Abu Dhabi, UAE: etisalat recently announced the successful completion of its first contract evaluation in procurement, using an agentic AI solution deployed within its private cloud environment. The successful implementation marks a significant milestone in the groupโ€™s ongoing AI-at-the-core transformation journey as an AI-powered enabling telco.

The milestone demonstrates the practical application of agentic AI within a critical enterprise process, combining intelligent automation with secure infrastructure to support faster, more efficient and data-driven procurement. This first evaluation established a foundation for the solutionโ€™s continued development and broader application across the procurement lifecycle.

etisalat is developing the solution as an end-to-end agentic AI capability spanning key stages of procurement. By enabling AI agents to support and automate complex workflows, analyse information and assist evaluation processes, the solution has the potential to reduce the overall procurement lifecycle by approximately 50 per cent, while improving productivity, evaluation efficiency and the quality and consistency of decision-making.

A key element of this solution is its deployment within etisalatโ€™s private cloud environment. Security and governance are integral to the solutionโ€™s design. The private cloud architecture enables etisalat to harness advanced AI capabilities while maintaining stringent requirements around data privacy, cybersecurity, compliance and governance.

The successful completion of etisalatโ€™s first agentic AI-powered contract evaluation marks an important step in the transformation of procurement. It brings together intelligent automation, high evaluation accuracy and secure processing to create a procurement model that is faster, more agile and data driven. As etisalat develops the solution across the procurement lifecycle, the potential is to halve overall cycle times, while strengthening productivity, governance, consistency and decision quality.

The initiative reflects etisalatโ€™s wider approach to embedding AI into business operations to deliver measurable business value. Rather than applying AI as a standalone capability, etisalat is integrating the technology into workflows where it can augment human expertise, automate repetitive and time-intensive activities, and provide teams with faster access to relevant insights.

The groupโ€™s approach is supported by its Responsible AI Framework and governance model, which incorporates risk assessment, privacy, security, compliance, transparency and human oversight throughout the AI lifecycle. etisalat has established structured governance processes covering AI initiatives from assessment and approval through deployment, monitoring and reporting.

The procurement initiative represents the next step in applying these principles to complex enterprise workflows, creating a scalable foundation for agentic AI that combines automation and intelligence with appropriate controls.

As etisalat continues to develop the solution, the focus will be on extending agentic AI capabilities across the procurement lifecycle, further improving process efficiency and enabling procurement teams to dedicate more time to strategic activities, supplier engagement and value creation.
