SAUDIA-Panasonic Avionics powers latest airline fleet with global 4K, IFE services

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) recently announced entering alliance with Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic Avionics), for offering the latest Saudia fleet 35 new Airbus A321neo family aircraft, with latest 4K and Bluetooth audio in-flight entertainment (IFE) innovations.

The 20 latest Airbus A321Neo along with 15 Airbus A321neoXLR aircraft will be upgraded with installation of global 4K, In-flight entertainment services from Panasonic Avionics in form of their NEXT IFE system.

As per the Panasonic Avionics announcement, its NEXT system, has potential for offering the industryโ€™s most progressive cabin experiences, that has been revolutionized and created with evolving future business objectives of the airline. Leveraging huge, evolving suite of digitalized, innovative services from Panasonic Avionics, the prime focus is upon enlightening loyalty, revenue generation and passenger engagement.

The Panasonic Avionics is already the IFE provider for Saudia fleet of Airbus A320 and Boeing B787-10 aircraft – with 45 aircraft operating its technology.

Additionally with the full cabin advanced HD experience, Saudia will also be featuring superior quality Bluetooth audio streaming, empowering the Saudiโ€™s customers for unleashing a library of premium entertainment options securely, utilizing their own Bluetooth-enabled headphones.

Statement from Ken Sain, Chief Executive Officer of Panasonic Avionics

Panasonic Avionics CEO, Ken Sain, stated that, โ€œWe are delighted to extend our highly valued partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines by taking their passenger experience to the next level with the worldโ€™s first 4K and Bluetooth audio in-flight entertainment technology.โ€

He also further added that, โ€œWe are very excited to extend or relationship with Saudia to this new fleet of aircraft and deliver the hardware and digital services that help ensure passengers expectations are exceeded by the best-in-class services available today and into the future.โ€

Saudia Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Captain Ibrahim Koshy, stated that, โ€œWe are delighted to be partnering again with Panasonic Avionics who have consistently delivered on their product commitments to provide reliable, engaging, tailored in-flight entertainment for our guests. Implementing their 4K and Bluetooth technology onboard our new fleets will ensure we deliver the best passenger experience in the skies.โ€

As per the SAUDIA Airlines statement, the in-flight entertainment services will have separate services classifying their premium business class passengers and Economy class passengers.

Business Class passengers will be able to experience 4K experience on 16-inch screens and utilize wireless charging to seamlessly connect with friends, family, and colleagues as soon as they touch their destination. For Economy Class passengers, Saudia has opted for a 12-inch 4k screens, high power USB charging at every seat.
