Dubai Future council agrees on Blockchain Initiative for smart city 2019

Based on Dubai’s cryptocurrency potential Future council approves the plan to compile a report also bringing in together local and global decision-makers from various government departments and private companies.

Dubai Future Council has as well approved three initiatives for 2019 during its second meeting backed by a lot of expert panelists across various government-owned and private firms. The first initiative will compile a report on Dubai’s cryptocurrency positioning along with a Dubai Blockchain Implementation Policy council as well as the Future Landscape Report for Blockchain in Dubai were also backed in by the council.

The council is chaired by Smart Dubai’s director-general, Dr Aisha bint Butti bin Bishr, and was designed by Dubai Future Foundation, DFF, that had held its inaugural meeting during April 2019.

Launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, it is also a part of Dubai Future Councils initiative, that strategizes on finding out new innovative solutions for strategic sectors and forecast their future over the next 50 years.

Bishr stated that “Blockchain has already emerged as the most promising technologies to appear on the global stage during all the more recent years as well as Dubai has already had remarkable accomplishments in the sector by launching blockchain strategy as well as hosting international blockchain conferences that bring upon influential global experts.

She also pointed out that “This Dubai Future Councils initiative has hit another major milestone adding to Dubai’s journey towards excellence and future leadership.”

The meeting’s agenda additionally enclosed agreeing on the formation of operating teams for the initiatives, also as setting delivery plans for each of them.
