Propeller, a venture capital firm focused on AI technology and infrastructure, welcomes Abdulaziz Alhouti as General Partner, bringing with him years of global financial experience across capital markets, venture investing, and cross-border M&A.

The appointment comes as venture investment in AI infrastructure continues to accelerate globally, with increasing demand for investors who can help founders navigate both early-stage company building and later-stage strategic growth. Alhouti’s track record, including landmark M&As, IPOs, and privatizations at HSBC and Saudi Fransi Capital, strengthens Propeller’s ability to support founders from company formation through global scale.

Early in his career, Alhouti was also involved in economic public policy at the Supreme Economic Council of the Royal Court in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He recently served as Chief Investment Officer at Jahez Group, where he led an investment strategy that has built a USD 50 million corporate venture capital portfolio and closed multiple strategic transactions, including one of the most seminal tech M&A deals in the region. He is also an active angel investor, directly investing in and syndicating deals across various sectors and regions.

Zaid Farekh, Founder and Managing Partner of Propeller, said โ€œAs AI infrastructure matures globally, founders need investors who understand both frontier technologies and company building at scale. Abdulaziz has spent his career helping companies navigate pivotal moments, from early investment through strategic acquisitions and public markets, making him uniquely positioned to help our founders navigate every stage of growth.โ€

“Every foundational technology follows the same arc: compute in the 1950s and 60s, the internet through Web 1.0 to Web 3.0; value is only unlocked once the underlying infrastructure becomes accessible, not just powerful,” said Abdulaziz Alhouti. “AI is at that same inflection point today: the computational burden of running AI is still too high for developers, enterprises, and creators to focus purely on their craft. Building the infrastructure layer that brings frontier technology within reach, and I’m excited to bring that lens to Propeller as we back the founders building it across the world.”

As General Partner, Alhouti will help lead Propeller’s investment strategy across developer tools, and AI-native software while expanding the firm’s network of founders, operators, and co-investors. His appointment supports Propeller’s continued deployment of Fund III and its mission to strengthen cross-border innovation between MENA and North America.
