If technology is employed correctly, it is a distant perception that even flowers can bloom in deserts. Rechsand’s Breathable Sand is one such unique innovation that will allow desert areas such as the GCC, Saharas or the UAE to grow abundant and lush foliage and greenery. If technology is employed correctly, it is a distant perception that even flowers can bloom in deserts. Rechsand’s Anti-Seepage Breathable Sand is one such unique innovation that will allow desert areas such as the Saharas or the UAE to grow abundant and lush foliage and greenery. The innovative sand retains water and allows free air circulation, thus creating an optimally wet soil environment for plants to grow.

Deserts are famed for their inability to retain water. This peculiarity contributes to the dense unlikeliness that vegetations can spring up in deserts without inventions like the Rechsand Anti-Seepage Breathable Sand.  The patent innovation is rightfully earning rave reviews among people and governments of all tiers. The sand is breathable and virtually anti-seepage. This means it has a capacity to retain water or moisture for a period of time, long for plants to grow and yield fruits. With a breathable factor that allows oxygen and carbon dioxide flow in and out of the soil, vegetations can now be planted deliberately and expected to thrive. Also, with the tendency to let air in and out of the Rechsand soil, plants will not suffer from an excess supply of water.

Amongst all areas of the earth, deserts and their neighboring areas see the least rain fall. Naturally, this would be bad news for farmers and the people in said settlements, but not with the Rechsand Anti-Seepage and Breathable Sand in vogue. Current practices have seen plastic liners being embedded in the soil around target areas to hold water. This has often turned out to be disastrous to plants as the lack of breathability leads to “drowning of plants”. On the flipside, the Rechsand’s Anti-Seepage Breathable Sand is breathable and is designed to prevent water buildup. Whether dry conditions or excessive rainfall, the Rechsand’s Anti-Seepage Breathable Sand maintains an optimal and healthy moisture level.

“Our sand is breathable, allowing air to go in and out, and that’s what makes it unique. Thus, excess water doesn’t create any issues,” says a representative from Rechsand. Of course, a multiple projects have been carried out using the Rechsand to prove its credibility. A case study was carried out in Abu dhabi with the Anti Seepage and Breathable Sand in a desert region where water is limited.

Crops as well as fruits orchids are grown here. They survived and continued to grow on naturally. Tests were carried on multiple projects out to confirm the compatibility of the Rechsand with other growth ingredients for plants such as fertilizers and medicines. The combination yielded positive results as experts confirmed that the Rechsand was compatible with fertilizers and other growth ingredients for plants.

Dake Rechsand’s products use patented processes for selective permeability and comprise a range of desert sand products that are reinventing the way water is harvested, conserved or stored. For research and development, the company maintains a State Key Laboratory of Silica Sand Resources Utilization, and an Academician Workstation, in Beijing. To date, the company has successfully deployed over 670 original patents. The products include breathable sand, breathable or permeable bricks, pavers and stones for harvesting rainwater, and oil sand, which increases the potential for oil production from wells.
