As an international service provider in the fields of environmental and waste disposal management, Reclay has taken over all shares in the Finnish consulting company FinnLoop Oy. Only recently, the group of companies to which Reclay belongs was also able to take over the major parts of the Finnish recycling system. The further professionalization of the consulting business is now the next strategic step in the Finnish market.

Last year, Reclay established FinnLoop Oy as a joint venture with Griffin Refineries Oy to extend its international consulting services to the Finnish market. After the Raan Group – Reclay’s parent company – also acquired the largest shares in the Finnish recycling system Finnish Plastic Recycling Ltd via a subsidiary this year, the complete takeover of FinnLoop Oy by Reclay represents a further step towards implementing a modern recycling economy in Finland. The share purchase was based on a company valuation of approximately EUR 1.3 million.

Innovative strength and expertise for modern recycling management

Antti Tiilikainen, member of Reclay’s management board and chairman of both the Finnish recycling system and FinnLoop Oy, is delighted with the strengthening of activities on the Finnish market: “Over the course of the last year, we have already laid a very valuable foundation with FinnLoop to bring our expertise and know-how to the Finnish market. By taking over the company completely, we now have the ability to make the best use of our international experience in the consulting business.”

Reclay brings much needed innovation and valuable expertise in the areas of take-back solutions, recycling, and extended producer responsibility (EPR). “Circular economy must be thought of globally,” Tiilikainen says with certainty. “We see great potential in Finland and would like to take advantage of the current optimism to drive change to a modern and feasible circular economy.”
