Samsung and Omantel, Oman’s leading telecommunications provider, have announced a new partnership to accelerate growth across the Sultanate of Oman. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing the collaboration was signed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by Doohee Lee, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, and Talal Said Al Mamari, the Chief Executive Officer of Omantel.

As per the agreement, the two companies will work together to position Omantel as a one-stop shop for the entire Samsung range of consumer and business smart devices and solutions. The two companies will also jointly explore opportunities and enhance brand visibility across all verticals within Omantel.

Doohee Lee, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics

Commenting on the partnership, Doohee Lee said, “Oman’s sophisticated customers have long demanded the best and that is why Samsung remains the leading premium brand in the country. This new partnership is a way to appreciate our loyal consumers through an enhanced customer experience while delivering new value to new customers. We will continue working with Omantel to push the boundaries of technology and customer service while delivering the broader Samsung ecosystem through a one-stop-shop model.”

Talal Said Al Mamari, the Chief Executive Officer of Omantel

Talal Said Al Mamari said, “Digitisation has picked up speed among consumers and businesses alike. These trends have spurred demand for premium devices leveraging the latest technology advances, including 5G. Our partnership with Samsung is a new opportunity for our customers to get their hands on the best smartphones in the market from the best network in Oman.”

The new collaboration will help evolve this positioning further, focusing on the customer experience, earlier availability of devices, and better customer service through regular training for sales reps.

The announcement comes weeks after the regional launch of Galaxy S23 Series, where Samsung Gulf Electronics announced the local availability of the all-new devices in Oman and the region.
