Global technology brand HONOR recently announced that it will hold a launch event for its upcoming flagship foldable smartphone, the HONOR Magic V2. During a conference at MWC Shanghai titled “The Future of Smartphones” and a CEO Tech Talk hosted by John Hoffman , General Manager of GSMA, Ltd., George Zhao , General Manager of HONOR Device Co., Ltd, shared key insights on the roles artificial intelligence (AI), 5G and its human-centricity play in driving smartphone innovation, and revealed the upcoming launch date of HONOR Magic V2, which is scheduled for July 12 in Beijing.
Industry sources added that Honor believes that the Technology industry and markets are powered by the Cycle of Innovation and not the economy. Industry sources further added that during the presentation, George Zhao invited the audience to imagine with him the vast possibilities offered by AI and 5G technologies and introduced HONOR’s key advancements in in-vehicle AI, communications, display, autonomy and portability of the devices. HONOR continues to seize opportunities for AI innovation by applying AI to various usage scenarios, and explores opportunities to leverage large language models (LLMs) on devices to advance technology-oriented to humans in smartphones and beyond.
Recognizing how communication technologies have evolved from 1G to 5G over the past five decades and how 5G has broken down the boundary between physical and digital, George Zhao explained how HONOR continues to optimize its information communication capabilities to provide a smoother user experience. Through software and hardware integration, and enhancements to cellular network, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, HONOR fully optimizes device performance in environments with poor signal quality, such as basements, malls, elevators and subways, providing a smoother experience for everyone. HONOR will also explore the use of satellites to help users stay connected and safe even in extreme conditions.
As digital content and platforms become more accessible, HONOR sees the need to put more emphasis on developing human-centric display technologies that are in step with changing user behaviors. Reinforcing HONOR’s commitment to user well-being, George Zhao said HONOR aims to create viewing experiences that are as comfortable and immersive as the natural world. The brand has introduced a range of eye-friendly features including flicker-free PWM dimming and circadian nighttime display to protect users’ eyes around the clock.
Industry sources further explained that besides connectivity and display, HONOR also understands users’ concerns about the balance between compact design and powerful performance.
