FANUC America, a premier leader in CNCs, robotics, and automation, is set to redefine the industrial landscape at Automate 2026 in Chicago. Exhibiting at Booth 1401, the company will showcase an elite portfolio of collaborative automation, high-payload industrial systems, and breakthroughs in Physical AI. By integrating generative AI, advanced 3D vision, and real-time adaptive motion, FANUC bridges the gap between digital intelligence and physical execution, offering manufacturers unprecedented scalability and precision.

Intelligent Robotics in Action: Driving Operational Flexibility

The showcase features cutting-edge applications designed to conquer historically complex production challenges through autonomous, human-aware execution:

  • CRX-3iA Collaborative Welder: Making its debut, this ultra-portable 11 kg cobot uses specialized vertical-up welding profiles and magnetic mounting to replicate the nuance of a skilled manual welder on structural I-beams.

  • CRX-20iA/L Bolt Tightening: Powered by Inbolt Physical AI and NVIDIA processing, this system dynamically tracks and secures moving engine blocks on a bi-directional conveyor without pausing production.

  • CRX-10iA/L Human-Aware Packaging: Leveraging RGB-D cameras and AI tracking algorithms, this interactive system executes box scanning while seamlessly adapting its motion path around nearby operators.

Beyond collaborative solutions, FANUC is introducing its next-generation R-2000/E Series industrial robots. Featuring a streamlined, maintenance-free architecture across eight configurations, these systems deliver enhanced axis speeds and increased wrist load capacities optimized for heavy-duty automotive spot welding. To accelerate factory deployment, FANUC pairs these hardware advancements with digital twin visualization via NVIDIA Isaac Sim, allowing enterprises to optimize and commission high-throughput palletizing cells safely within a virtual environment before physical installation.

“Physical AI is changing what’s possible in industrial automation,” said Mike Cicco, President and CEO of FANUC America. “At Automate 2026, we’re demonstrating how robots can perceive their environment, make decisions and act in real time, bringing a new level of responsiveness to production.”

The Future of Autonomous Production and Generative AI

FANUC is pioneering natural-language interfaces with its CRX Vibe Coding demonstration, where spoken commands are instantaneously translated into executable Python code via generative AI. This leap drastically simplifies robotic programming, opening automation to a broader workforce. Complemented by the new P-55/15-21A paint robot running on a streamlined, battery-free R-50iA controller, and enterprise-wide data analytics via the Zero Down Time (ZDT) Cloud, FANUC America delivers a comprehensive roadmap for the highly adaptive, data-driven smart factories of tomorrow.
