The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) and Bank Albilad, one of Saudi Arabia’s leading banks, have signed a co-operation agreement to deliver specialised training programmes under the “Albilad AI” programme.

The agreement reflects both organisations’ commitment to developing national talent, improving digital readiness and helping employees use artificial intelligence in the banking sector.

The agreement comes as banks and financial institutions continue to adopt AI at a faster pace. The programme will give Bank Albilad employees the practical knowledge and skills they need to understand and use AI technologies. It will also help improve operational efficiency, support innovation and enhance the customer experience.

Under the agreement, BIBF will design and deliver the training programmes in line with the latest international practices. The programmes will provide participants with advanced skills to use AI across different areas of banking and financial services.

The partnership reflects the commitment of both organisations to investing in people and preparing skilled professionals who can keep up with rapid technological change. It will also help employees make better use of the opportunities offered by AI to support growth and innovation.

Commenting on the agreement, BIBF Chief Executive Officer Dr Ahmed Al Shaikh said: “We are pleased to work with Bank Albilad on this important initiative, which reflects our shared commitment to developing people and helping them benefit from the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence.

Bank Albilad General Manager of Human Resources Excellence Yasser Sulaiman Al-Dukhail said: “Investing in our employees and developing their skills is a key part of Bank Albilad’s strategy for innovation and organisational excellence.

“Through our partnership with BIBF, we aim to provide our national talent with advanced AI skills. This will help improve operational efficiency, support the delivery of more advanced banking services to our customers and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation goals.” He added.

The agreement is an important step towards building a stronger culture of innovation and encouraging the use of emerging technologies in the banking sector. It will support the strategic goals of both organisations and contribute to the development of the financial sector across the region.

The partnership also confirms the commitment of BIBF and Bank Albilad to developing human capital and supporting innovation in the financial and banking sector across the GCC.

BIBF continues to provide specialised training and education programmes that meet the needs of financial and banking institutions. These programmes help prepare skilled professionals for the digital future and support continued development and innovation across the region.
