Walter Engineering CEO Sardor Bazinov explains how the company designs, manufactures and installs façades for the region’s most complex buildings, and why that work has earned it an international award.
Central Asia’s cities are in the midst of a construction boom. Capitals are growing and changing their skylines as skyscrapers, business centres, hotels and a new generation of residential complexes go up. Yet the first impression of any building comes down to one element: its façade.
“A façade is not simply the shell of a building; it is a city’s architectural calling card.” — Sardor Bazinov, CEO of Walter Engineering.
In recent years, Bazinov’s company has become one of the region’s leaders in façade engineering. In 2026, Walter Engineering received an International Business Magazine Award in the “Excellence in Complex Façade Engineering – Globe 2026” category for its expertise in the most demanding segment of the market: high-rise and mixed-use buildings, non-standard architectural envelopes and turnkey façades.
Walter: Ambition and Philosophy
Walter Engineering is an international engineering and manufacturing group specialising in high-precision aluminium façade systems, the design of complex architectural envelopes, and turnkey façade fabrication and installation. The company has completed 35 large-scale projects and installed more than 250,000 m² of façade systems. Its team comprises more than 60 engineers and designers, including international experts, and more than 500 certified installers working under HSE supervision.
Despite the pace of its work, quality remains the company’s guiding principle.
“We never think in terms of ‘build it fast and close the contract’. We work so that, decades from now, people will look at these buildings with respect.”— Sardor Bazinov
Architectural Symbols of the New Tashkent
Every Walter project is unique, and many have already become symbols of the new Tashkent.
Nest One. A 266.5-metre, 51-storey mixed-use skyscraper with residential, office, retail and entertainment space. Walter delivered 65,000 m² of façade systems and composite panels here; the envelope’s reliability was verified through wind-load and seismic-resistance modelling.

“Nest One was a test of our maturity as a company. For us, this project is more than a façade: it is a symbol of Tashkent’s new ambition, a way of showing that our city is ready to compete with the world’s great metropolises.”— Sardor Bazinov
Piramit Tower. One of the capital’s tallest towers, with a striking diagonal grid façade: around 24,000 m² of façade systems and decorative fins.
“A project on this scale has three enemies: wind, time and climate. We had to strike a balance between the lightness of the architectural concept and the technical resilience of the façade. The fins work like armour, but they look like fine jewellery.”— Sardor Bazinov
Hilton Tashkent City. Around 36,000 m² of glass and aluminium façades for a five-star hotel. “This is not just a hotel; it is Tashkent’s point of contact with the world. Every visitor to the city sees this façade, and it shapes their impression of the capital,” says Bazinov.
Walter’s portfolio also includes the Agrobank headquarters with structural glazing (15,000 m²), the Kayan, Infinity and Boulevard business centres, the BoMI International Financial Center, a residence and hotel in Tashkent City (31,000 m²), the Akay City residence, the Hampton hotel, the Asaka Bank building and the Samarkand airport VIP terminal.
Bazinov takes particular pride in projects with a social purpose: the Central Asian University campus (16,000 m²), Tashkent Pharma Park (18,000 m²), the University of Geology and the Innovation Centre in Tashkent. “These are not just buildings; they are an investment in the country’s future,” he says.
The Region’s Façade Engineering Leader
The scale of its work has made Walter Engineering one of the key players in Central Asia’s façade industry. “Walter Engineering is one of the largest suppliers of façade systems in Uzbekistan. We take part in almost every major project in the country, from residential complexes and business centres to administrative buildings and skyscrapers,” says Bazinov.
Leadership at home has become the foundation for work across the region. Walter’s projects now span Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, and the company runs complex projects abroad on the same full-cycle model it uses in Tashkent: in-house engineering, production and testing.
In Bishkek, Walter is working on ONE, a premium residence and Kyrgyzstan’s first skyscraper of its class, complete with its own helipad. “For us, it is a chance to show that Central Asia is ready for world-class architecture,” says Bazinov. In May 2026, the company signed a strategic memorandum on full-cycle façade engineering for the premium Grand residential complex in Bishkek. In Kazakhstan, Walter is working on the facades of the premium Diamond residential complex.
Engineering First
What defines Walter is not a list of solutions but a working model. The company takes an engineering-first approach: instead of being parcelled out to ad hoc contractors, each project passes through a single chain covering engineering survey, design documentation, manufacturing and assembly, logistics, installation, and design and technical supervision.
“For us, a façade is an engineering system that must be precisely calculated, correctly assembled and perform predictably for decades. Calculations, connection details, compatibility of solutions and production discipline come first; installation comes after. On complex projects, there is simply no other way.”— Sardor Bazinov
The company’s range covers unitised and stick curtain walls, structural and semi-structural glazing, ventilated façades, architectural screens and solar shading systems, entrance systems, skylights and façades for high-rise buildings.
Production as a Guarantee of Quality
Walter’s façade systems are assembled at the largest glazing factory in the CIS: 70,000 m² of covered floor space, CNC machining centres, and capacity of up to 1,000 m² of stick and up to 750 m² of unitised façades per day. Its own aluminium supply ensures stable lead times, control over alloy quality and the ability to produce custom profiles for a specific project. The company’s partners include leading global manufacturers of aluminium systems, glass and hardware, while certified supply chains and back-up channels keep complex projects on schedule.

“In-house production is what makes us independent. We control the entire process ourselves, from drawing to installation.” — Sardor Bazinov
Innovation Lab
The company runs its own laboratory to test materials and structures: the strength of profiles and joints, the behaviour of insulated glass units under sharp temperature swings, weathertightness, energy efficiency, and wind and seismic loads. Today Walter applies more than 100 aluminium-structure technologies, including BIM modelling, multifunctional glazing, new-generation composites and façades with integrated solar shading.
“We will never send a system to site that has not passed our internal tests. That is a principle. We don’t simply take European standards and copy them; we adapt them to Central Asian conditions. In Tashkent, a façade has to withstand +50 °C in summer; in Bishkek, hard frosts in winter.” — Sardor Bazinov
Beyond the Horizon
Walter’s next step is further international expansion, with the Middle East and Eastern Europe among its priority markets. Other directions include public infrastructure and social projects, raising the quality of the built environment, and localising production in the region.
“This award recognises the engineering school we have built. We have proved that in Central Asia it is possible to design, manufacture and install façades of any complexity to world standards. Our task now is to maintain that standard in every new market.”— Sardor Bazinov
Its production facilities, laboratory, team and hundreds of thousands of square metres of completed façades are the foundation on which Walter Engineering is pursuing its main goal: establishing itself on the global market.
