National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has announced today launching Google Pay for its customers, enabling NBK Cardholders to take advantage of simple and secure contactless payments and digital card storage on both Android and Wear OS devices.

Through this service, NBK Cardholders will be able to store NBK Credit and Debit cards within Google Wallet, a digital wallet that is concurrently launching in Kuwait, and make payments anywhere contactless payments are accepted.

In addition to payment cards, cardholders will also be able to save and access loyalty cards and boarding passes and event tickets in the Google wallet.

Using Google Pay also makes payments safer with multiple layers of security, adding to the protections already provided by NBK card.

This includes industry-standard tokenization, which means when you use your card stored in Google Wallet to pay, transactions are made using a virtual card number (a token). This token is device-specific and associated with a dynamic security code that changes with each transaction, providing an extra layer of protection from fraud.

Moreover, if the phone is ever lost or stolen, the user can simply access it through the “Find my device” function to instantly lock the device from anywhere, secure it with a new password, or even wipe it clean of personal information.

On this occasion, Mr. Mohammed Al-Othman, GM – Consumer Banking Group at National Bank of Kuwait said: “We are pleased to launch the Google Pay for NBK Cardholders, enabling them to add their cards to Google Wallet and use them for all payments.”

“NBK is always committed to provide its customers with the latest and most advanced payment solutions, within our endeavors to offer them an integrated banking experience that effectively helps meet all their daily needs,” he emphasized.

Al-Othman added: “We are well-positioned to embrace the future of the advanced digital banking industry to offer our customers better service and meet their needs. In this, we continue to leverage our tremendous technological infrastructure, extensive experience, and forward-looking strategy, which all make us indeed “the bank you know and trust.”
