Kioxia Corporation, a global leader in memory solutions, today announced the release of version 4.0 of its Universal Flash Storage1 (UFS) designed for automotive applications. The built-in flash memory device has obtained Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) Capability Level 2 (CL2) certification. Kioxia is the first company to receive this automotive-grade UFS version 4.0 certification distinction2.
Automotive SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability Measurement) is based on the ISO/IEC 33000 series of standards and is an internationally recognized framework for evaluating and improving software development processes, specially designed for the automotive industry.
Obtaining ASPICE CL2 certification means that Kioxia has implemented structured processes for project management and software development to ensure consistent quality and traceability. This certification demonstrates Kioxia’s ability to meet the stringent software development and quality standards required by automakers and Tier 1 suppliers for automotive-grade UFS version 4.0 components, further consolidating its leadership in the built-in memory market for automotive applications.

UFS version 4.0 includes new advanced features and capabilities to meet demanding automotive application requirements.
