Almar Water Solutions, part of Jameel Environmental Services and a global leader in water infrastructure development and services, has been awarded the expansion of the Zuluf Water Treatment Project by Aramco, with the project expected to proceed to financial close, subject to customary conditions. The award reflects the long-standing relationship between both organizations and underscores Almarโ€™s role as a trusted partner in largeโ€‘scale industrial water solutions.

The expansion was awarded to the same special purpose vehicle (SPV) through an extension of the existing contractual framework, ensuring full continuity with the original concession structure. This structure comprises a joint venture between Almar, a leading party, and Al Jomaih Energy & Water Company.

With a total investment of USD 940 million, the second phase will add a new facility with a capacity of approximately 308,000 cubic meters per day (1.9 million barrels of water per day), significantly increasing treated water production for injection.ย

The expansion builds on the successful first phase of the Zuluf Water Treatment Plant, a strategic industrial facility launched in 2023 with a capacity of 185,000 cubic meters per day. ย The project shares a similar structure developed under a BOOT (Buildโ€“Ownโ€“Operateโ€“Transfer) concession lasting until 2050. Together, both phases represent a scalable, longโ€‘term infrastructure solution designed to meet the growing demand for highโ€‘quality injection water with operational reliability and efficiency.

Almar has been selected to manage the technical, financial, and operational complexities of the project, providing secure water solutions for this critical industrial activity.

Carlos Cosรญn, CEO of Almar Water Solutions, stated: โ€œThis award reflects the strength of our partnership with Aramco and the longโ€‘term trust placed in Almar. The Zuluf expansion reinforces our commitment to delivering reliable, efficient water solutions for critical industrial applications while creating sustainable value for clients and stakeholders.โ€

The Zuluf expansion reinforces Almarโ€™s proven track record in delivering largeโ€‘scale industrial water infrastructure through innovative financing and integrated delivery models, while strengthening its strategic positioning in the Middle East in support of the regionโ€™s energy and industrial growth.
