Portugal,April 13th, 2021:

Cleanwatts announces a partnership with Crédito Agrícola aimed at accelerating the energy transition process for the Group’s 600 bank branches nationwide.

Crédito Agrícola’s branches will now benefit from smart energy efficiency capabilities provided by Kisense® Buildings, a Cleanwatts product designed to visualize, optimize, manage and control enterprise level consumption, generation and storage of energy in real time. The implementation of Kisense® Buildings at Crédito Agrícola will allow the Group to track its performance on CO2 emissions and water use across all branches. Real time data collection and predictive analytics provided by Kisense® Buildings will also help Crédito Agrícola optimize operations and maintenance costs at the Group’s larger properties.

The Crédito Agrícola Group integrates Caixa Central – Caixa Central de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo, CRL, the 75 Caixa de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo its Associates, auxiliary service companies directly or indirectly owned by Caixa Central, and also FENACAM – Federação Nacional from the Caixa de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo, FCRL, with a total of 636 branches nationwide. With more than 430,000 Associates and 1,800,000 Customers, the Crédito Agrícola Group is one of the main Portuguese financial groups.

The Crédito Agrícola Group is committed to be a leading reference for inclusion, sustainability, and innovation, maintaining the recognition and trust of its clients and local communities. In particular, the Crédito Agrícola Group’s Sustainability Policy takes into account the challenges of the energy transition both for the organization itself and for its clients, with the incorporation of environmental and social criteria in the granting of credit that will privilege projects that are more sustainable, gradually reducing investment in companies or activities that clearly are not adapting to carbon neutrality and the circular economy.

“The commitment with Sustainability is very relevant for Crédito Agrícola. The Group established, last year, its Policy in this area, that will materialize in the development of loans and green bonds, in the promotion of the credit line for energy efficiency and circular economy, and in the creation of other lines aimed at financing actions that reduce the environmental impact and CO2 emissions. Gradually, environmental, and social criteria will be incorporated into the granting of credit that will favor projects that are more sustainable, progressively reducing investment in companies or activities that are clearly not adapting to carbon neutrality and the circular economy. We believe that only by respecting the limits of the planet, we will be able to achieve prosperity that guarantees the well-being of society, and the adoption of Cleanwatts’s solution is another step in our sustainability’s strategy.” – Nuno Cristino, Director Logistics and Procurement at Group Crédito Agricola.

Cleanwatts is revolutionizing the energy sector, with the ability to offer simple, global solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy to businesses and local communities (self-consumption and energy communities). In particular, within the scope of building management, the Kisense® Buildings platform allows commercial and industrial companies to benefit from significant operational cost savings as well as the reduction of CO2 emissions, through the real-time management of energy generation and storage, as well as energy and water consumption.

“We’re very excited about our new partnership with the Crédito Agrícola Group. It’s clear that we share a common vision in respect of the energy transition and both companies deeply value the role of local communities in driving the changes required at a global level. Bank branches are present in so many local communities and therefore can play a fundamental role in expediting the transition”- says Michael Pinto, Cleanwatts CEO and Co-founder. “We admire the work carried out by Grupo Crédito Agrícola in terms of sustainability practices and we are confident that this is just the beginning of a terrific partnership”.
