During a recent special ceremony being organized, Microsoft facilitated out the achievements of 153 engineering students from the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) for their active participation for a Microsoft-run NASA Summer Camp, on July 25th which ran for around four weeks.
The Summer Camp, commenced on July 25th run for four weeks, was planned for making College Engineering students have better leadership, innovation within digital era. The firm also announced that, the young engineers’ specializations ranged from electrical, mechanical, civil to more niche disciplines like aerospace, petroleum chemicals.
The firm also announced that the programme permitted them to progress advanced, future-ready technology skills, earn Microsoft’s globally recognized certifications in Python Programming, Azure Cloud, Data Science.
The participants were initially honoured in a virtual graduation ceremony hosted by UAEU on 21 September, in presence of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor James Klausner, as well as Microsoft UAE’s Higher Education Industry Executive, Layali Eid, both offering the keynote addresses.

Ahmed Ameen Ashour, Education Director, Microsoft UAE, stated that, “This program was an empowering experience for the leaders of the future; and what better way to reach for the stars than at a NASA-affiliated training event?” He further added that, “As part of our collaboration, Microsoft shared our own cloud-powered Azure Space innovations designed for use on and off world. Through meeting with space scientists, students were inspired by first-hand accounts of real-world adventures that are likely to have significant impacts on their careers, and hence the future of the nation.”
The firm also announced that during the camp, they had honour to meet space scientists from UAE Space Agency, Azure Space – the Microsoft platform offering an extension of an intelligent cloud podium from its terrestrial home all the way to the stars.
The students also were benefitted as they got assigned to their career coaches, tech professionals from Microsoft, who are going beyond their technical talents to hone softer attributes, like that of the collaboration, other interpersonal skills. The camp was designed around the ambitious aspirations of today’s digital natives, to empower them with the practical skills and experience needed to make their mark in the global digital economy.
