UAE 12th globally in pursuit of Digital Competitiveness and it tops the Arab Rankings

  • UAE creates history by advancing five places in the IMD’s World Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2019.
  • This year UAE has got the honor of being coveted as been ranked first amongst the Arab region outsmarting its closest competitors and as well 12th globally amongst the highly competitive countries in the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2019.

As per the latest of the reports, that was issued by the IMD World Competitiveness Centre, UAE has progressed five positions up from the previous year’s rankings and one of its best shows till year-on-year.

The reports also stated that the UAE dominated all its Arab league counterparts and progressed to achieve the top ranking in the Arab region within all three core factors – technology, future-readiness, and knowledge.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA director-general who also praised the stellar UAE’s performance by stating that “The UAE’s overall net progress in the Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2019 is a new global testimony added to the UAE’s net record of it’s past and present achievements and teamwork.”

He also highlighted the primary importance of federal and local government entities and the private sector in determining, laying the foundation stone and as well as achieving the vision, aspirations, and goals set by UAE leaders.

Al Mansoori also added that “Technology in the current day is the cornerstone for economic and social development strategies and plans adopted by the world’s advanced economies. Innovation is always the key for the success as well as the cooperation among individuals, federal and local government entities in the development of solutions, and future foresight plays an accelerating role of this innovation and thus improve the country and society”.

This ranking is backed by 50 indicators and is grouped into the nine sub-factors forming out of three major factors-knowledge, technology, and future-readiness. Thus, UAE wishes more and is striving hard to attain first amongst not just the Arab league, but globally as well.
