Portugal, 15th June 2021:

As part of the continuing internationalization of Cleanwatts, the Portugal-based company announces a partnership agreement with the Norwegian company NODES aimed at deploying the benefits of distributed generation and flexibility services around the World.

“Cleanwatts team is excited and energized about entering this partnership with NODES.
Combining the competences and strengths of Cleanwatts and NODES in terms of energy
systems, software development, digital services, operations management, we are able to
transform the complexity inherent in the energy transition into a simple value proposition for our customers: clean, smart, locally sourced energy and at a lower price than the grid”- says José Queirós de Almeida, Cleanwatts CMO.

Together, Cleanwatts and NODES are now well positioned to address a range of new and
rapidly emerging market needs triggered by the ongoing transition towards decentralized
generation, storage and consumption of clean energy. Cleanwatts will deploy Kiplo® (Virtual Power Plant platform) designed to provide aggregation services, grid-level balancing and wholesale energy trading in support of local energy communities and smart city projects.

“NODES is pleased to be working with Cleanwatts and to recognise them as a partner as part of our NODESconnect program. Working with companies like Cleanwatts is extremely
important in developing the energy system for the future, where technology and innovation will allow us to realise the decentralization and decarbonisation of our society” – concludes Richard Sarti, Director Marketing and Sales of NODES.
